JALALABAD (Pajhwok): The Taliban have hanged seven former militants in the eastern province of Nuristan, a border police official said on Friday.
Nuristan-based Border Police Commander Shamsur Rahman told Pajhwok Afghan News the insurgents hanged their ex-associates in Kamdesh district earlier in the week.
After surrendering their arms to the authorities, the men were kidnapped from their houses. The commander said: “The Taliban later buried them in a way that their feet jutted out of graves…”
Brig, Gen. Abdul Baqi Nuristani, the provincial police chief, said 10 rebels had been killed in infighting among the Taliban in Kama area two days ago. However, he was unaware of the hangings.
