Int’l cricket teams to play matches with Afghan squad: Danish

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): After the recently concluded cricket Worldinfo-icon Cup, international cricket teams would play series of matches with Afghan cricket team, Nasimullah Danish, chairman of Afghanistaninfo-icon Cricket Board (ACB), said on Sunday.

In his exclusive interview with Afghan Pajhwok News, Danish said he held series of meetings with international cricket officials during world cup. Afghanistan cricket team got international recognition after participating in the recently held World Cup.

He convinced several countries to play cricket matches against Afghanistan in their countries.

India assured to play two One-Day international matches in January 2016, he said, adding that he held fruitful meetings with Australia, Bangladesh and New Zealand Cricket Board officials. 

He said that negotiations were underway on with Australia Cricket Board officials to organize matches with Australia in Bangladesh before the start of Under-19 cricket world cup.

Danish said New Zealand agreed to send A-Team for a One-Day and Four-Day matches in United Arab Emirates (UAE). He said that the ACB has planned a four year plan with Pakistaninfo-icon and agreement had been shared with Pakistan.

Danish said that he had been in contact with Ten Sportsinfo-icon to sponsor Afghanistan matches which would be beneficial for the future of Afghan cricket. He appreciated Afghanistan team played well in last World Cup.
