Policeman beheaded; child dead in a blast

FARAH/ AIBAK (Pajhwok): A blast in western Farah province left a nine-year -old boy dead while security officials recovered a beheaded body of a policeman in northwestern Samangan province, officials said on Sunday.

Jawad Afghan, the spokesman of Farah governor, told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast occurred at 6:00 am in the first police district of Farah city, leaving the boy dead and wounded his brother.

The explosive, he said, was placed in front of a bakery. The boy is stated to be in critical condition, he added. Nobody group so far claimed responsibility for the blast.

Meanwhile, Col. Najibullah, 1st police district chief in Aibak city, told that unidentified gunmen beheaded a policeman when he was patrolling in the locality.

His body, he added, was found today morning in Mir Kalal locality.
