Policemen among 6 dead in Qarabagh blast

CHARIKARinfo-icon (Pajhwok): At least four policemen and two civilians were killed in a roadside bombing in Qarabagh district of central Kabulinfo-icon province on Monday, Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.

The incident took place when a police pick-up hit by a roadside bomb in Sarsang area of the district at around 11: 00 am, a statement from the MoI said.

Earlier, district chief Abdul Wasay Sharifi told Pajhwok Afghan News that policemen went to the area to attend a funeral ceremony when came under roadside bomb blast.

He said six policemen were killed and two others wounded in the incident.

As usual, Talibaninfo-icon claimed responsibility for the attack, with the group’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed seven police officers including the district police and intelligence chiefs were killed in the attack.
