Takhar traffic accident leaves 21 wounded

TALOQAN (Pajhwok): Twenty-one persons, including womeninfo-icon and children, were wounded in a traffic mishap in the vicinity of Taloqan, the provincial capital of northern Takhar province on Wednesday, provincial police spokesman said.

Maj. Abdul Khalil Aseer told Pajhwok Afghan News a passenger’s pick-up vehicle crashed at around 10: 30 am when it was heading to Khwaja Changal village from the capital city.

Eight children, six women and seven men suffered multiple injuries in the accident. The mishap occurred because of driver’s negligence, he added.

All the wounded had been shifted to Taloqan Civil Hospital but driver of the vehicle fled after the mishap. Dr. Kramuddin Wakil confirmed receiving 19 injured, with one of the wounded was in critical condition.
