HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): Police on Sunday claimed arresting three alleged terrorists and recovering 10 Pakistan made pistols from their possession in western Herat province.
Provincial police spokesman, Abdul Rauf Ahmadi, told Pajhwok Afghan News the three men were arrested in Kohdastan area of Injeel district.
Hailing from Badghis province, the detainees wanted to commit terror acts using the pistols with 270 bullets, he said, adding they had been referred to the judicial organs for further investigation.
Meanwhile, two children, collecting firewood, were injured when a landmine exploded on them in Kamar Gulagh area of Herat City. They were taken to the provincial civil hospital, Ahmadi said.
Dr. Muhammad Rafiq Shirzai, the hospital head, told Pajhwok Afghan News one of the children had one of his hands severed.
