Zabul roadside blast leaves 3 civilians dead

QALAT (Pajhwok): Three civilians were killed and 11 others wounded in a roadside blasts in parts of southern Zabul province, an official said on Thursday. 

Gul Islam Syal, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News one person died and another wounded in a mine blast.

A healthinfo-icon official wishing anonymity said five people including three children were wounded in the incident who were referred to Kandahar for treatment.  

Saifudin, a local resident, confirmed five people were wounded in the mine blast when they their car they were travelling in struck a roadside bomb.

Aziz Khan Achakzai, Afghan National Army (ANA) officer, said two militants were killed and six others wounded in Nijat military operation in the area.

Talibaninfo-icon have not yet commented on the incidents.

Separately, Ataullah Khogyani, the governor’s spokesman in central Maidan Wardak province, said three Taliban commanders were killed and six others wounded in airstrikes in Said Abad district.

Khogyani said two insurgents were wounded in a gun battle in Jaghto district. In other incident, a student wounded in a mine blast in the same district.
