Gunmen kill Jawzjan judge of a primary court

SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot dead judge of a primary count in Shiberghan, the provincial capital of northern Jawzjan province, on Saturday, an official said.

The incident took place at around 3:00 pm in the limits of 2nd municipality district and 600 meters away from provincial police headquarters, director of the National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) said.

Lt. Col. Abdul Hafiz told Pajhwok Afghan News two motorcyclists opened indiscriminate fire on Judge Qazi Ghulam Sakhi who died on the spot.

He said the perpetrators managed to flee the scene and police had started investigations into the case.

An eyewitness Hasibullah said the slain judge was traveling in his car when two masked motorcyclists blocked his way and shot him dead.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the killing of the judge.
