KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): During his stopover in New Delhi, former president Hamid Karzai on Saturday held a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussed with him issues of mutual interest.

Following invitation of Chinese government, the former president left for Beijing on Saturday morning. A statement from the office of former president said that Karzai left for China on an unofficial visit.

It merits mention that it is Karzai’s second visit to Beijing. Earlier, the former president visited India, Australia, Germany and a number of other countries.

During the meeting with Indian prime minister, Karzai thanked Modi for his government continued support to Afghanistaninfo-icon.

Karzai demanded India to extend all possible cooperation in development projects and security institutions so that Afghanistan should be able to defend itself.
