Jun 12, 2015 - 19:02

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): One civilian was killed and four others, including two Pakistani security personnel, were wounded in a bomb blast on the Pakistani side of the Torkham border crossing, officials said on Friday.

The blast took place when officials were busy checking luggages of passengers travelling between the two countries at the main crossing gate, a Pakistani Khasadar force official at the border post told Express Tribune.

He said the IED had been planted in a wheelbarrow that went off injuring five people, including two Khasadar personnel and three passersby. One of the passersby shifted to the Landikotal hospital died of his wounds, the official said.

The border was closed for a few hours after the incident but reopened late under tight security.
