Former Jihadi commander shot dead in Parwan

CHARIKARinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Unidentified gunmen shot a former jihadiinfo-icon commander dead early Tuesday in Bagram district of central Parwan province.

Mohammad Masoom Farzaee, Bagram police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News Wasim aka Dewana Baso, a former jihadi commander, was on his way for morning prayers when he came under gunmen attack.

Wasim, 60, was a member of Jamiat-i-Islamiinfo-icon party, Farzaee added. Elyasuddin Bakhshi, a local elder in Bagram, said: “The killing of jihadi commander is a political issue.”

He said Wasim had no animosity with anyone and had been busy in agricultural. Bakhshi expressed concerns about security situation in the district and accused security officials of negligence.

Yesterday, according to security officials, Afghan and foreign forces raided an underground compound of Jan Ahmad former jihadi commander and destroyed huge arms caches in the province.
