Farah border police commander dead in mine blast

FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): Afghan border police commander and his guard have been killed in a landmine blast in Western Farah province, an official said on Wednesday.

Abdul Rahim Haidari, Pishtkoh district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News Juma Gul, the border police commander, was killed when his car stuck a roadside mine near border with Iran.

Mohammad Musa, a resident of the locality, said Juma Gul was on his way back after meeting border police when his car hit a roadside mine.

No group has so far claimed credit for the attack.
