KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon on Tuesday condemned “in the strongest terms” Sunday’s suicide car bombing that killed 33 people in southeastern Khost province.

The attack near a US military base killed at least 27 civilians and six security personnel and injured several others.

“Our deepest sympathies and condolences go to the families of the victims. Government and people of Pakistan share the grief and sorrow of their Afghan brothers, and stand in full solidarity with them,” the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul said in a statement.

It said Pakistan reiterated its condemnation of terrorism, in all its forms and manifestations. “Such acts are deplorable and cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.”

The statement said terrorism was common enemy of Pakistan and Afghanistaninfo-icon. “We are confident that through coordinated measures Pakistan and Afghanistan would root out this menace from our countries and the region.”
