MoD to take up border security issue with Pakistan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A delegation of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) plans a visit to neighbouring Pakistaninfo-icon on Tuesday to discuss border security issues, an official said.

Deputy MoD spokesman Gen. Dawlat Waziri told Pajhwok Afghan News Afghan the officials would discuss recent problems happened near the border, Pakistani forces attacks inside Afghan territory and other issues.

The Afghan delegation's visit to comes as Pakistani attacks on the Afghan territory have intensified. Building facilities inside Afghan territory in the Angoor Adda area of Barmal district of southeastern Paktika province and firing rockets into border areas of Nangarhar and Kunar provinces would also come under discussion.

Some days back, deputy foreign minister Hekmat Khalil Karzai summoned the Pakistan ambassador in Kabul and shared the Afghan government concerns with him about recent tensions in the border area.
