Nearly a dozen civilians wounded in Paktia bazaar blast

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): Nearly a dozen civilians were wounded in a bomb blast on in the Zurmat district of southeastern Paktia, an official said on Thursday.

Kiftan Ikhlas, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News some explosives fixed to a bicycle to target security forces went off last evening, leaving civilians wounded instead.

Security forces, he said, remained unhurt in the blast. A source in the Zurmat clinic confirmed the 11 injured -- all civilians -- were in stable condition.

Saida Khan, a resident of the locality, said the explosion took place in the bazaar during rush hour. Militants have not commented on the incident as yet.

GARDEZ (Pajhwok): As many as 11 civilians were wounded in a bomb blast on Thursday evening in Zurmat district in southeastern Paktia, an official said.

Kiftan Ikhlas, the district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News some explosive materials were fixed to a bicycle to target security forces which went-off, leaving civilians wounded instead.

Security forces, he said remained unhurt in the blast. A source in the Zurmat clinic confirmed the injured who were stated to be in a stable condition.

Saida Khan, a resident of the locality, said there was rush hour in the bazaar when the explosion took place.

Militants have not commented on the incident as of yet.
