KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Professor Rasoul Sayyaf, head of Dawat-e-Islami Party, has urged Talibaninfo-icon to shun violence and become part of the current system.

He expressed these views at a press conference on Friday in Kabul. “I ask Taliban to come forward and avail the chance as it is brilliant opportunity to join the government system,” Sayyaf remarked.

“I again ask you not to waste your energy. Come and sit with your Afghan brothers and think about nation and country’s building,” he added.

He also called late Mullahinfo-icon Omar’s and his successor leadership equally as un-Islamic. “Don’t nominate any leader of faithful nor nominate any new leader for yourself if any of you want to be righteous,” he added.

He strongly suggested Taliban to participate in country’s politics through election. He also condemned those who commemorate the condolence and showed deep grief over Mullah Omar’s demise.

Sayyaf also asked officials of unity government to avoid distributing important ministries and other posts but instead focus on reforms, sustainability, improvement of security and curbing corruption.
