Kunar clash leaves 5 Taliban militants dead

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): At least five Talibaninfo-icon militants were killed after they stormed security check-posts in Marwi district of eastern Kunar province, an official said on Tuesday.

Kunar Police Chief Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Sayedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News security forces repulsed the attack on Afghan National Army (ANA) posts, killing five attackers and wounding two others. Two ANA soldiers also suffered injuries.

But Taliban’s spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed several security officials were killed and three ANA check-posts captured during the attack that left only one fighter dead and two others wounded.
