LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Seven policemen have been killed in a Talibaninfo-icon attack in the Garmser district of southern Helmand province, an official said on Thursday.

The district police chief, Timor Shah Nazari, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Taliban stormed a security checkpoint in Bertaka area last night.

He said seven policemen, including check-post commander Khasa Gul, were killed after being poisoned. “They were served with whey from the village. After drinking it, they fell unconscious and later the Taliban shot them to death.”

Nazari added the militants took away two police vehicles, including Gul’s personal car. Police are investigating the incident, but no one has been detained so far.
