PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Sixteen suspected Afghan citizens have been detained during a joint search operation in Pakistaninfo-icon’s northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Counter-Terrorism Department, intelligence and other law-enforcement agencies’ personnel launched the raids late Saturday night. The operation went on till dawn amid curfew.

The detainees were shifted to a police station for an interrogation, according to The News, which said police arrested eight suspects, including four proclaimed offenders, and seized arms and drugs from them.

Based on a tip-off regarding the presence of outlaws, police raided hideouts Azeem Kalay, Kotka Akram Khan and Mastikhel villages.

In the southern district of Dera Ismail Khan, the security forces arrested a terrorist from a house in the city area.
