SHIBERGHAN (Pajhwok): The Talibaninfo-icon insurgents have killed their own commander in northern Jawzjan province, security officials said on Tuesday.

Qari Amin, the militant commander, had earlier killed a bodyguard of the former Jawzjan governor in Manjigak district, according to local authorities.

Col. Abdul Manan Raufi, a senior security official, told Pajhwok Afghan News Mullahinfo-icon Qader -- Taliban’s shadow district chief -- had lashed Qari Amin to death.

He said Mullah Qader killed Qari Amin for taking the life of the former Jawzjan governor’s bodyguard. Raufi added the incident took place in Char Janghoi locality of Manjigak.

Meanwhile, Taliban staged attacks on the Keshkak locality of Faizabad, where they lost four fighters. Five of members of an uprising group were also wounded.

Col. Raufi said the clashes erupted on Monday night and continued until early hours of Tuesday. The Taliban have not commented about the two incidents so far.
