Mobilise masses against enemy, Sayyaf tells govt

Mobilise masses against enemy, Sayyaf tells govt

Sep 09, 2015 - 17:52

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Former jihadiinfo-icon leader Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf on Wednesday asked the national unity government to mobilise the masses against enemy plots or he himself would do that.

Addressing the 14th death anniversary of Ahmad Shah Massoud in Kabul, Sayyaf asked the Afghans to be ready for the defence of the honour and history of their country: “if the plots of the enemies continued, the government should mobilise the people, otherwise we will mobilise them.”

While warning neighbours, he said, these countries should realise their safety was in a safe Afghanistaninfo-icon and if they intended something else, they would be defeated.

“If Afghanistan is controlled by Afghans, it will have no bad impact on, but if it falls into the hands of terrorists, the worldinfo-icon should suffer. The world would be safe if there is a stable Afghanistan,” he remarked.

“We are not violators of human rights, the people who are calling mujahiddin as human rights violators, they are mistaken. We are conquerors and did nothing against human rights,” he said.

The religious scholar said the establishment of an armed party and groups in an Islamic country was illegal, calling the Talibaninfo-icon neither Afghans nor Muslims.

He said the Taliban were created during Burhanuddin Rabbani’s government and they pledged allegiance to Mullahinfo-icon Omer in the presence of an Islamic leader which was against Islam.

He suggested if the government leaders could not hold parliamentary election in the current situation, they should convene Loya Jirgainfo-icon, which had always resolved the country’s problems.
