Afghan Local Police commander shot dead in Kabul

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Afghan Local Police (ALP) Commander for the Mohammad Agaha district of central Logar province has been shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Kabulinfo-icon, an official said on Thursday.

Mohammad Agha district police chief, Capt. Matiullah Abdur Rahimzai, told Pajhwok Afghan News the shooting took place in the Bagh-i-Ali Mardaninfo-icon area of Kabul Wednesday evening.

He said the district ALP commander, Shah Agha, was walking in the area, where unidentified armed men shot him to death. The attackers managed to flee after the incident.

Talibaninfo-icon had repeatedly warned the ALP officer of death and he was possibly killed by the militants, Rahimzai said. Security officials and Taliban have not commented on the shooting so far.
