FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): A policeman accused of killing four of his colleagues in the Shah Joi district southern Zabul province has been detained, an official said on Tuesday.

Zabul officials said on September 7 the four policemen were killed and two others had been missing as a result of the shooting in the Kajarkhel area of Shah Joi district.

Badakhshan police chief Col. Sakhi Dad Haidari told Pajhwok Afghan News the alleged killer, a resident of Argo district, was arrested last night. The detainee was then shifted to Kabulinfo-icon for investigation.

Haidari said the accused, Amanullah, had been in contact with Talibaninfo-icon before shooting the four policemen on September 7. The arrest was made on the basis of information from Zabul security officials.

Zabul police had said a delegation had been appointed to ascertain the motive behind the killing of the policemen. The Taliban militants have not yet commented on the incident.
