Ghor primary court judge detained on corruption charges

FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): The primary court judge in western Ghorinfo-icon province has been arrested on the charge of bribery in accordance with the order of an investigative team sent from Kabulinfo-icon, an official said on Thursday.

Atta Mohammad Farooqi, the primary courthead, was ordered detained by a delegation sent by the Supreme Court, Appellant Court Judge Mohammad Hakim Kunaritold Pajhwok Afghan News.

The delegation had been interrogating Farooqi, a source in the National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon)-- the Afghan intelligence service -- confided to this news agency.

According to a survey by the Independent Directorate of Local Governance (IDLG) in January, some departments in the province, including the prosecution office and courts,are involved in corruption.
