JALALABAD (Pajhwok): A 12-member group of bomb experts and two Islamic State fightershave been detained during an operation in the eastern province of Nangarhar, officials said on Friday.

The suspected militants were arrested in a series of raids by National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) agents over the past three days, the governor’s spokesman, Ahmad Zia Abdulzai, told a press conference.

Five of the bombers were responsible for blasts in Samarkhel, Jalalabad Surkhrod. The five others involved in attaching magnetic bombs to vehicles, the spokesman said.

“The NDS also captured two fighters of Daesh involved in some disruptive incidents,” he said, naming one of the detainees as Atal. The second recently beheaded an Afghan soldier.
