2 civilians, insurgent leader among 4 dead in Kunar

ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Two civilians and as many militants have been killed in separate security incidents in eastern Kunar province, officials said on Saturday. One civilian and three more insurgents were wounded.

The Talibaninfo-icon attacked local residents in Chapa Dara district on Friday afternoon, killing a local commander’sson and nephew and injuring a third boy, the provincial police chief said.

Brig. Gen. Abdul Habib Syedkhel told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident occurred after the boys went to a nearby mountain for collecting firewood.

Separately, a Pakistani fighter was killed and three others were wounded on Friday night as a result of a clash with security personnel in Shigal district, he said.

A Taliban group leader was killed in infightings in Narai district, the police chief added. The Taliban have not yet commented on the incidents.
