Clash over land dispute leaves 7 injured in Paktika

SHARANA (Pajhwok): Seven people were injured during an armed clash between two families over a land dispute in Khair Kot district of southeastern Paktika province on Wednesday, an official.

The incident took place in Mohammad Hasan village after a verbal clash between the parties, said Raz Mohammad Mukhlis, the town’s administrative chief.

He said police reaching the area soon after the clash erupted had brought the situation under control, preventing further casualties. He said local elders were busy trying to reconcile the warring parties.

Public Healthinfo-icon Director Dr. Wali Gul said seven people injured in the incident had been brought to the civil hospital in Sharana, the provincial capital. He said five of the wounded persons who were in critical condition had been transferred to a hospital in southern Ghazni province.
