Blast, gunfire heard near Russian Embassy in Kabul

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A blast and gunfire were heard near the Russian Embassy and the Afghan parliament in Kabul late on Monday on the Darul Aman road, Interior Ministry officials said.

The blast was heard shortly after 8pm in the limits of the seventh police district of Kabul, 119 police helpline commander Humayun Aini, told Pajhwok Afghan News. He had no immediate information about casualties.

Interior Ministry’s deputy spokesman Najib Danish told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast took place near the Russian Embassy and a clash was ongoing in the area of 8:30pm.

But other soruces said two suicide bombers had entered the house of a former governor of Helmand, Naeem Baloch, in the area and gunfire from inside the house could be heard.
