2 civilians dead, 6 wounded in Paktika explosion

SHARAN (Pajhwok): Two civilians were killed and six others wounded in a bomb blast in the Yahyakhel district of southeastern Paktika province on Wednesday, an official said.

Provincial Council Chairman Afsar Khan Sulemankhel told Pajhwok Afghan News the casualties occurred when a bomb exploded inside a shop in the district bazaar around 10:30am.

District chief Musa Khan Kharotai confirmed the incident and casualties, saying the blast took place in a computer shop. Four shops were damaged by the explosion. The injured people were taken to Sharan Civil Hospital.

Noor Mohammad, a resident of the district, said the victims belonged to the Zankoh area of Yahyakhel.

The governor’s spokesman, Nabiullah Perkhail, said a search had been launched to arrest the perpetrators. No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
