5th Afghan Youth Voices Festival MEDIA WEEK – KABUL LAUNCH

Afghanistaninfo-icon’s love of culture, art and literacy has grown in recent years and is embraced by ever increasing numbers of young men and womeninfo-icon across the country. Now entering its third successful year, the Afghan Youth Voices Festival showcases an exciting range of imaginative and creative activities, expressed through various multimediainfo-icon, cultural, social and literacy expression.

The Afghan Youth Voices Festival launched in 2010 and due to increased participation numbers expanded in 2011.  Now, we are at 5th round of the festival. The upcoming fifth annual festival builds upon popular previous components and aims to further involve and network youth interests, through multimedia training courses and providing opportunities to convey ideas, dreams and aspirations. Led by Afghanistan Youth Cultural and Arts Organization, youth received multimedia training courses at Parwan, Kapisa, Helmand and Sar-e-Pul. From this, the Media Week (part of Afghan Youth Voices Festival) event exhibited selected outcomes from the multimedia training.  Media Week has concluded exhibitions in regional areas and now arrives in Kabulinfo-icon.

Media Week celebrates youth voices advocating for positive and constructive social change. Held 19-21 November, young bloggers, poets, story writers, artists, musicians, social media activists, filmmakers, photographers and youth from other social and art spectra will participate.   

The launch day will be held at Babur Garden, Queen’s Palace and other two days at Afghan Cultural House. Besides showing the products of the trainees, the festival includes circus performance, local and international music songs, theater performance, painting, photo and caricature exhibition, film screen, book club, poetry competition, and other entertaining programs.
