PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): The judicial department head and the appellate attorney were wounded and their driver killed after unknown gunmen opened fire at their vehicle in the provincial capital of central Logar province on Wednesday, an official said.

Logar police chief Col. Mohammad Jan Abid told Pajhwok Afghan News the two judicial officials came under attack in Purk area of Pul-i-Alam city at around 3pm this afternoon.

He said the court officials were wounded and their driver was killed in the incident.

“These officials were traveling in a car to Kabul when came under attack,” he said, adding the injured attorneys had been taken to a hospital in Kabul for treatment, calling condition as stable.

Abid added an investigation had been launched into the incident but not arrests could be made so far.

Habibullah, a resident of Purk area, said “some people opened fire from a corolla car at another corolla car killing one person and injuring two.”

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
