Militants accused of hanging former district chief in Uruzgan

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Local officials said on Saturday militants have executed a former administrative head for Khas Uruzgan district of central Uruzgan province.

Malak Abdul Karim, the incumbent district chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the insurgents had seized his predecessor from his home on Friday night.But he had no information about his assassination.

However, provincial police spokesman Noor Agha Kamran said the militants had hanged the former district chief from a tree in Kala Khur area.

Juma Khan had no government job at present, he explained. The rebels have not yet commented on the incident.
