President inquires after ex-diplomat wounded in shooting

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani visited former diplomat and analyst Ahmad Saeedi at the National Directorate of Security (NDSinfo-icon) Hospital to inquire after his healthinfo-icon.

Saeedi, who served as Afghan envoy in Pakistaninfo-icon, was shot by two armed motorcyclists in the Haji Yaqub Square of Shahr-i-Naw. He sustained serious injuries in the shooting.

A statement from the Presidential Palace said on Saturday Ghani paid a visit to the hospital on Friday night and had a brief chat with Saeedi about his health.

The president issued orders to hospital authorities to employ all available resources for the medical treatment and speedy recovery of the civil societyinfo-icon activist and political analyst.

He said the enemy of Afghanistaninfo-icon always targeted prominent personalities and patriotic Afghans, who disclosed their nefarious designs. Ghani vowed not to forgive terrorists.
