Policeman, civilian wounded in Pul-i-Alam explosion

Dec 06, 2015 - 15:11

PUL-I-ALAM (Pajhwok): Two people, including a policeman, were wounded in a bomb explosion in the capital of central Logar province on Sunday.

The bomb attached to a bicycle went off near the Kabulinfo-icon Bank branch in Puli-i-Alam at 1.30pm, the provincial crime investigation chief said.

Col. Mohammad Jan Abid told Pajhwok Afghan News: “At the time of the blast, policemen were making a beeline in front of the bank to collect salaries.”

The man carrying the explosives and one policeman were injured in the botched attack, he said, without blaming any group for the explosion.

But Ahmad Zia, giving an eyewitness account, said three people had been injured in the bombing.
