Abdullah leaving for China to attend SCO summit

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Abdullah Abdulalh, at the head of a high-level delegation, is leaving for Beijing, the capital of China, on Sunday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) annual meeting slated for December 14, the CEO office said.

Abdullah will be accompanied by 11 Cabinet ministers on the trip, the CEO office said in a statement. Foreign Affairs Minister Salahuddin Rabbani, Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi and the ministers of commerce and industries, rural rehabilitation, mines and petroleum are part of the Afghan delegation, the statement said.

The Afghan delegation would also meet Chinese officials and leaders from other countries on the sidelines of the conference.

The SCO was established jointly by China, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan in 2011; Afghanistaninfo-icon, Iran, Pakistaninfo-icon, India and Mongolia have observer status in the organization.
