Indian linked to Daesh sneaks into Afghanistan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A young Indian man, suspected of having links with the Islamic State (IS), has sneaked into Afghanistaninfo-icon from Mumbai, a news report said on Saturday.

Ayaz Sultan, the man who showed his friends Daesh documents and videos, slipped away from his home in Malwani town on October 30 before leaving for Afghanistan.

One of his associates, identified as Wajid Shaikh, was detained in Pune and returned home on December 23. He had gone missing along with Sultan to join the militant group.

According to The Times of India, anti-terrorism officials are still looking for Mohsin Sayyed. Shaikh had reportedly been in contact with elements who were trying to indoctrinate him.

“The security agencies are now worried about Sultan, another youth who slipped away from his Malwani home on October 30, 2015 and went to Afghanistan,” the newspaper reported.

Currently being interrogated, Shaikh has told investigators that Sultan used to show them Islamic State literature and videos.Sultan flew to Kabul on November 1, 2015.
