ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Fifteen people were killed on Saturday when the vehicle they were travelling in flipped over in eastern Kunar province, a police official said.

The Datsun carrying wedding guests turned over while negotiating a sharp bend in Chapa Dara district, Col. Najibullah, the town’s police chief, told Pajhwok Afghan News.

At least 14 died on the spot while six others were wounded as the pick-up carrying them to a wedding ceremony fell into a gorge as a result of the accident, he said. One of the injured died on his way to hospital.

Meanwhile, Kunar Public Healthinfo-icon Director confirmed the accident, saying two dead bodies and five injured people had been brought to the civil hospital from the site.
