Security incidents: 2 district police chiefs sacked in Kabul

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Police chiefs for eighth and 12th districts of Kabul have been removed after the torching of a girls’ school and rocket strikes in theirbailiwicks, an official said on Wednesday.

Two days back, the Ahmad Shah Baba Girls’ School was set alight by unidentified gunmen in the Arzan Qimat neighbourhood of Kabul in the 12 police district.

In a separate incident, one person was injured on January 18when a rocked fired by militants landed near the Italian embassyin limits of eighth police district.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said eighth police district head Col. Haji Mohammad and 12th police district chief Col. Dawlat Shah had been removed.

The statement said the police officers had been sacked on grounds of negligence in compliance with the interior minister’s order.The officers will be investigated.
