Pakistan down Afghanistan in ICC Under-19 World Cup match

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Pakistaninfo-icon lashed Afghanistaninfo-icon by six wickets in a group match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Under-19 Worldinfo-icon Cup in Bangladesh, a board official said on Thursday.

After winning the toss, Pakistani decided to field, looking at the pitch condition.The Pakistan skipper’s decision payed off, helping his bowlers, the Afghanistan Cricket Board spokesman said.

Pakistani bowlers Shadab Khan and Mohsin did not let the Afghans batsmen settle. Khan captured four wickets, conceding only nine runs in five overs.

While chasing the target, Pakistani batsmen showed good application and concentration.They achieved the target in 31.3 overs for the loss of four wickets, Hotak said.

Ziaur Rahman took two wickets for Afghanistan, which will be facing Sir Lanka in the second encounter on January 30. Rashid Khan claimed one scalp.
