Feb 09, 2016 - 19:10

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): Police in capital Kabul have arrested 318 suspects, including two Iranians, in connection with 147 criminal cases during the past 30 days, an official said on Tuesday.

Lt. Gen. Abdul Rahman Rahimi, chief of the 101 Asmai zone police headquarters, told reporters that the detainees included 25 alleged murders.

He said 104 persons had been arrested over robberies, 27 over other thefts, 11 over carrying illegal guns, 38 over hurting others, 43 over immoral activities, 65 over purchasing drugs, two for transferring magnetic bombs and as many Iranians for using duplicated currency.

Rahimi said: “The two arrested Iranians sold carpets and circulated forged bank notes in the market.” The Iranians, however, did not confess to their crime and maintained they only sold carpets, he said. He said police had recovered six stolen cars during the past four weeks.

Rahimi said police in Kabul had captured 167 kilograms of hashish, eight kilograms of opium, nine of kilograms heroin, 188 bottles of alcohol, and 650 liters of prepared alcohol.
