Feb 13, 2016 - 15:26

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Afghan government on Saturday voiced its concern over the kidnapping of a former Herat governor in Islamabad and asked Pakistaninfo-icon to take urgent steps for his safe recovery.

Syed Fazlullah Wahidi was kidnapped by unidentified individuals in Islamabad, where had gone along with his family to get visas for the United Kingdom.

Unidentified men in two vehicles kidnapped Wahidi from a high-end guesthouse in Islamabad’s F-7 sector on Friday.

The Afghan government had asked Pakistan to use all its resources to identify the kidnappers and release Wahidi, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

Meanwhile, the Afghan embassy in Islamabad said it had logged a case and police had launched a search in different parts of the capital. No one has so far claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
