2-day Pak-Afghan Culture Corridor opens in Peshawar

PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A workshop aimed at promoting cultural ties and people-to-people contacts between Afghanistaninfo-icon and Pakistaninfo-icon began in this northwestern city on Saturday.

The two-day event has been arranged by the Culture Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province to bring closer the peoples of the neighbouring countries, according to organisors.

The Pak-Afghan Culture Corridor seeks to public contacts in areas of culture, tourism, sportsinfo-icon, minerals and other fields. The initiative will highlight the role these sectors can play in strengthening bilateral relations.

Scheduled to conclude today, the workshop has been organised jointly by the Culture Department and the Pak-Afghan People’s Forum at the Area Study Centre of the Peshawar University.

Noted poet and culturist Rokhan Yousafzai told Pajhwok Afghan News the event would play a significant role in promoting harmony. He urged authorities of both countries to arrange such workshops more frequently.
