PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): An Afghan citizen has been detained in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on the charge of getting a policejob on the basis of a fake Pakistani identity card.

Working at a local court in Nowshera district, Afzal Khan, son of Awal Gul, was arrested on Sunday, police official Mohammad Tahir told Pajhwok Afghan News.

“In response to several public complaints, a joint investigation team was constituted to look into the identity of Afzal Khan,” the police official said. The complaints were found valid.

Meanwhile, the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) confirmed Awal Gul and his three sons had illegally received Pakistani identity cards.
