Taliban kidnap 11 ‘pro-govt’ civilians in Sar-i-Pul

SAR-I-PUL (Pajhwok): Talibaninfo-icon gunmen on Wednesday kidnapped nearly a dozen local residents in northern Sar-i-Pul province, a public representative said.

Mohammad Ali Hakimi, a member of the provincial council, told Pajhwok Afghan News those kidnapped belonged to Mirza aw Lang area of the Sayyad district.

He said the Taliban attacked a vehicle en route to Sar-i-Pul city, the provincial capital, from the Mirza aw Lang in Qafaltoon area and abducted 11 passengers at around 10am.

Taliban spokesmen have said nothing in this regard, but a Taliban commander in Kohistanat district, told Pajhwok Afghan News over the telephone that the abducted men were supporting the government and took part clashes with the Taliban.
