MAHMUD RAQI (Pajhwok): A Talibaninfo-icon local commander was killed and his two fighters wounded as a result of a clash with Afghan Local Police (ALP) in central Kapisa province, an official said on Friday.

The Taliban local commander Badruddin was killed and his two comrades were injured return firings after the insurgents attacked ALP checkpoints on Friday morning in the Tameer area of Tagab district, the ALP commander, Asad Agha Safi told Pajhwok Afghan News.

Neither security personnel nor civilians suffered casualties in the gun battle, he said.

A resident of the area, Abdul Haq, said that people could not come out of their houses due to the fierce firings this morning.
