Korea promises development assistance to Afghanistan

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): The Republic of Korea has promised continued assistance to Afghanistaninfo-icon in different fields and expanding bilateral relations.

Ambassador Chen ki Hoon held out the assurance at a meeting with Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani in Kabul, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Rabbani thanked the Republic of Korea for its cooperation and contribution to the rebuilding of Afghanistan. The two sides also discussed bilateral ties.

The ambassador assured Korea would continue to support Afghanistan by sharing its experiences in different fields, especially in economic and rural development areas.

A group of Korean experts in the field of rural development and forest rehabilitation would soon visit Afghanistan and cooperate with the government, the envoy said.

Rabbani said providing scholarships to Afghan students, particularly in the sector of science and technology, was important.
