503kg of hashish, weapons recovered by Nangarhar police

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): Police have recovered more than 500 kilograms of hashish from a drug smuggler in the Durbaba district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.

The trafficker, Riyaz, wanted to shift the 503 kg of drugs to other areas for sale but police arrested him in the Karoko area of the district, police spokesman, Lt. Col. Hazrat Husain Mashriqiwaltold Pajhwok Afghan News.

The detainee and the drugs were shown to media at the counter-narcotics police headquarters. The spokesman police were interrogating the trafficker.

Separately, another man was detained with weapons and ammunition at the Samarkhel checkpoint in Behsud district. The man wanted to shift the arms from Kabulinfo-icon to Marko Bazaar.
