Policeman detained on charge of stealing 2m afs salaries

KABULinfo-icon (Pajhwok): A policeman has been detained on the charge of robbing salaries of Wolesi Jirgainfo-icon Secretariat workers, a security official said on Sunday.

Salaries amounting to 40 million afghanis were shifted to the parliament on Saturday when the guard, Sher Agha, robbed two million afs, a security official revealed on condition of anonymity.

Parliament security guards arrested the policeman with 2 million afs, he said, adding the detainee had already been terminated twice from his job on corruption charges.

Meanwhile, the crime branch chief of the 101st Asmayee police zone, Brig. Gen. Faridoon Obaidi, confirmed the arrest. An investigation into the case had been launched, he concluded.
