BAMYAN CITY (Pajhwok): Five people were killed, dozens of livestock lost and 350 houses damaged as a result of natural disasters in central Bamyan province, officials said on Wednesday.

Floods killed four people in Wars and Panjab districts, while a man lost his life in an avalanche in Yakawalang district, said Ahmad Reza Rifaat, head of the Afghanistaninfo-icon Natural Disaster Management Authority (ANDMA) for Bamyan.

He added 184 houses were destroyed and 166 others partially damaged. Scores of acres of farmlands and roads were also damaged and many trees washed away by the rain-induced floods.

ANDMA has dispatched a team to the affected areas to survey the losses and casualties.
