Father of Paktika governor’s spokesman killed in Ghazni blast

SHARANA (Pajhwok): Father of the spokesman for the governor of southeastern Paktika province has been killed in a magnetic landmine blast, the governor said on Thursday.

Governor Aminullah Shariq told Pajhwok Afghan News his spokesman Nabiullah Pirkhel’s father Haji Mirza Ahmad, a tribal elder, was killed in the blast in southern Ghazni province on Wednesday.

He said unknown persons had attached a magnetic bomb to Ahmad’s car that went off in Ghazni City, the provincial capital, killing him and injuring his two relatives.

Ghazni police spokesman Fahim Amiri confirmed to Pajhwok Afghan News the blast that killed Ahmad and injured his two family members.

A doctor at the Ghazni civil hospital said the injured persons were in stable condition.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the incident.
